Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information File Studio (filestudio.in) collects when you use the website and its tools, and the choices you have. Questions: support@filestudio.in.
1. Your files
The PDF, image, audio, video and calculator tools process files inside your browser on your own device. The files you open in them, their contents, the passwords you type and the results you download are not uploaded to File Studio or to anyone else. The exceptions are described in the next sections and are limited to the tools named there.
- Share Files transfers the files you choose to the device you connect to. The connection is set up through a public PeerJS signalling server (which sees only a short random session code and network addresses) and the data travels over an encrypted WebRTC channel, directly or, when no direct path exists, through an encrypted relay that cannot read it. Nothing is stored on a server.
- AI features (Auto Subtitles, Chat with PDF, AI fill in Remove Video Logo) download open-source model files from Hugging Face or a public CDN the first time they are used. Only the request for the model file is sent; your audio, document or video is processed on your device.
- Fonts: if you add a Google Font in the video editor, the font is downloaded from Google Fonts.
2. Storage on your device
- IndexedDB and localStorage keep your settings (theme, language, tool options), recently used tools, and — for some tools — work in progress such as the file workspace, video editor projects and in-progress screen recordings, so they survive a page reload. This data stays in your browser. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
- Service worker cache stores the app's own code so it can work offline.
3. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and tools are used, which browsers and devices visitors have, roughly where they come from (country/city level) and which buttons are clicked, so we can fix problems and decide what to build. Events describe actions (for example "compress finished, 2–5 MB"), never file names or file contents. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga). We also use Vercel hosting logs and Vercel Web Analytics, which record anonymous page views without cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
4. Advertising and cookies
File Studio shows ads served by Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info or www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- Other third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads through Google. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and how Google uses cookies in advertising.
Ads and analytics scripts run on the page but do not have access to the files you open in a tool, which never leave your device.
5. Information you send us
- Contact and bug-report forms are submitted to a Google Form; we receive your email address, the topic and your message, and use them only to reply and to fix the issue.
- Email updates are optional. If you subscribe, we store your email address, the page you subscribed from and your site language in a Google Sheet and use it only to send occasional news about File Studio. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
6. Children
File Studio is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to access or delete any personal information you have sent us (for example a contact-form message or a subscription) by writing to support@filestudio.in. Depending on where you live (for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 or the EU GDPR) you may have additional rights, which we will honour.
