About Image to PDF
Images to PDF turns a set of JPG or PNG files into one multi-page PDF, one image per page, in the order you arrange them. The image data is placed into the PDF as it is, without re-compression, so what you see in the PDF is exactly the photo or scan you added.
How to use Image to PDF
- Drop JPG or PNG files on the upload area, or tap Browse Images. You can keep adding more with + Add More Images.
- Drag the thumbnails into the right order. The number in the corner of each thumbnail is its page number; hover a thumbnail and use the red button to remove it.
- Choose a Page size: A4 or Letter puts every image on a sheet of that size, scaled to fit and centred; Auto-fit makes each page exactly the size of its image.
- Click Convert. The PDF is built and saved to your Workspace.
- Click Download PDF to save it. The file is named images_to_pdf followed by a number, so rename it before you submit it anywhere.
When it helps
Front and back of an ID card
Add the front photo first and the back second, choose A4, and you get a two-page PDF that prints at a sensible size. This is the usual shape that portals and banks expect when they ask for an address or identity proof as a single PDF.
Photographed handwritten pages
Assignment sheets or lab records shot on a phone can be put in order by dragging and handed in as one file instead of a dozen loose images.
Screenshots for a bug report or record
With Auto-fit each screenshot keeps its own page shape, so tall phone screenshots are not shrunk into a strip in the middle of an A4 sheet.
Tips
- File size follows the images. Because nothing is re-compressed, ten 4 MB phone photos make a PDF of roughly 40 MB. If a portal has a size limit, compress the images first or run the finished PDF through Compress PDF.
- Auto-fit sizes the page from the image's pixel count (one pixel becomes one point), so a 4000-pixel-wide photo becomes a very large page. It looks fine on screen but prints at an odd size; pick A4 when the PDF will be printed.
- Crop and straighten photos before adding them. The tool fits the whole image on the page and does not trim borders, table tops or fingers at the edge of the frame.
- If a phone photo appears sideways in the PDF, rotate and save it in your gallery app first, or rotate the page afterwards with Rotate PDF.
- PNG keeps screenshots and text crisp; JPG is much smaller for camera photos. Use the format that suits the content rather than converting everything to one type.
Limitations
- JPG and PNG are placed into the PDF without re-compression. WebP images are converted to PNG in the browser first, which can make those pages larger than the original WebP file.
- There is no margin setting and no per-image rotation or crop. For margins, use PDF + Images, which offers small and large margins.
- The camera orientation tag stored in some phone photos is not applied, so a picture that looks upright in your gallery can land sideways on the page.
- Images are not enhanced, deskewed or turned into searchable text. The PDF contains pictures of your pages, not text.
What happens to your files
Your images are read from the file picker into the browser tab, and pdf-lib, which is part of the page, writes the PDF in memory. No image or PDF is uploaded. The finished PDF is kept in your Workspace, which is stored in this browser's IndexedDB on your device so it is still there after a reload; delete it from the Workspace when you no longer need it, especially for ID documents on a shared computer.

Convert Multiple Photos Into One PDF
File Studio lets you combine multiple JPG or PNG images into a single multi-page PDF document. Drag and drop your images, rearrange their order, and click Convert. Each image becomes one page, centred and scaled to fit an A4 or Letter sheet, or given a page of its own size with Auto-fit. This is ideal for creating document packages from photographed receipts, scanned certificates, or multi-page forms captured with your phone camera.
Perfect for Aadhaar Cards, Marksheets and Receipts
Government portals and university admissions in India often require documents in PDF format. If you have a photo of your Aadhaar card, marksheet, caste certificate, or income certificate, File Studio puts it into a PDF without re-compressing the image, so its quality is unchanged. That also means the PDF is about as large as the photo, so check the portal's file-size limit and compress the PDF if it is over.
Drag to Reorder Images Before Converting
The order of pages matters — especially when combining front and back scans of identity documents or arranging multi-page forms. File Studio's drag-and-drop interface lets you rearrange images into the exact sequence you need before generating the PDF. Preview thumbnails help you verify the order visually, ensuring your final document is organised correctly on the first conversion.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I convert a JPG to PDF online for free?
- Add one or more JPG or PNG images, drag the thumbnails into the order you want and pick a page size (A4, Letter or Auto-fit). Click Convert, then Download PDF. The PDF is built in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
- Can I combine multiple photos into one PDF?
- Yes. Drag and drop multiple images at once. They will all be placed into a single multi-page PDF in the order you arrange them.
- What image formats are supported?
- JPG/JPEG and PNG are placed into the PDF as they are, without re-compression. The file picker also accepts WebP, and WebP images are converted to PNG inside your browser before they are placed on the page.
- How do I convert an Aadhaar card photo to PDF?
- Take a clear, evenly lit photo of the card, add it here (add the back as a second image if the form wants both sides) and click Convert. Check the portal's file-size limit before uploading: the image is not re-compressed, so a full-resolution phone photo can make a PDF of several MB.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. File Studio is built on a strict local-first architecture. Every PDF operation — merging, splitting, compressing, redacting — runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your computer. You can even disconnect your internet after the page loads and the tools will continue working perfectly.
- Is File Studio completely free?
- Yes, 100% free with no limits. There are no file size caps, no daily limits, no watermarks added to your output, and no account or email required. All tools are free forever.
- Does it work on mobile and tablet?
- Yes. File Studio is fully responsive and works on Android and iOS browsers. All processing happens locally on your phone's or tablet's hardware.
