Word to PDF — Free, Private and Unlimited

Convert Word (DOCX) to PDF free in your browser. Selectable, searchable text, batch convert or merge into one PDF. No upload, no daily limit, no sign-up.

About Word to PDF

Word to PDF lays out each .docx file in your browser, captures every page as a sharp image and places an invisible text layer over it, so the PDF looks like the document and its text can still be selected, copied and searched. Several files can be converted in one go and downloaded as a ZIP or as one merged PDF.

How to use Word to PDF

  1. Drop .docx files on the drop area or tap + Choose Word files. Each file appears in the list.
  2. Pick a Quality: Standard (smaller file) captures pages at twice screen resolution; High (print quality) captures at three times, for crisper print at a larger size.
  3. Tick Merge all into one PDF if the files belong together, such as a cover letter and a resume.
  4. Click Convert. Each row shows its page progress and then the page count, size and time taken.
  5. Download a single result with its PDF button, or use Download all, which gives a ZIP or the merged PDF depending on the checkbox.

When it helps

Resume and cover letter as one file

Add both .docx files, tick Merge all into one PDF, and job portals that accept a single attachment get one PDF in the order you added them.

A batch of letters or certificates

Mail-merged documents saved as separate .docx files can be converted together and collected in one ZIP instead of exporting each one from Word.

Converting on a computer without Word

On a shared or office computer without Microsoft Office, the browser does the layout, so a .docx received by email can be turned into a PDF for printing or submission.

Tips

Limitations

What happens to your files

The .docx is unpacked and laid out inside your browser tab with the docx-preview library, and each page is captured and written into the PDF on your device. The document is not uploaded and no server sees its content. Converted PDFs are held in the page's memory until you download them and are not added to the Workspace, so closing the tab clears them.

Frequently asked questions

Is my Word file uploaded?
No. The document is laid out and converted inside your browser. It never leaves your device, so it is safe for contracts, resumes and records.
Is there a daily limit or file size limit?
No daily limit and no account. Convert as many files as you like; very large documents are limited only by your device's memory.
Can I convert several Word files and merge them?
Yes. Add many .docx files, convert them in one go, then download them as a ZIP or as one merged PDF.
Can I select and search the text in the PDF?
Yes. Each page is captured as an image of the document as your browser lays it out, with a hidden text layer on top, so you can select, copy and search the text. Hyperlinks are not clickable in the PDF.
Does it support old .doc files?
Only .docx (Word 2007 and later). Open a .doc file in Word or Google Docs and save it as .docx first.
Does it work for Tamil, Hindi and other languages?
Yes. Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Arabic, Urdu, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and more are drawn with the fonts in the .docx or on your device, and the text in the PDF can be selected, copied and searched in that language. Documents typed in old non-Unicode fonts such as Bamini or Kruti Dev need that font installed.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. File Studio is built on a strict local-first architecture. Every PDF operation — merging, splitting, compressing, redacting — runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your computer. You can even disconnect your internet after the page loads and the tools will continue working perfectly.
Is File Studio completely free?
Yes, 100% free with no limits. There are no file size caps, no daily limits, no watermarks added to your output, and no account or email required. All tools are free forever.
Does it work on mobile and tablet?
Yes. File Studio is fully responsive and works on Android and iOS browsers. All processing happens locally on your phone's or tablet's hardware.
