PDF to JPG Online Free — Convert PDF Pages to Images
Convert PDF pages to high-quality JPG images free. Pick the pages you need and set the quality. No upload. Several pages download as a ZIP. Works on any device.
About PDF to Image
PDF to JPG renders the pages you choose as JPG images. A4 and Letter pages come out about 1500 pixels wide, which is sharp enough to read on a phone or to drop into a slide; one page saves as a single JPG and several pages download as a ZIP.
How to use PDF to Image
- Drop a PDF, or pick one already in your Workspace. Thumbnails of every page are drawn first. To convert several PDFs at once, drop them together: one quality setting (and a choice of all pages or just the first) applies to every file, and the ZIP keeps the pages of each multi-page PDF in their own folder.
- All pages start selected. Click a thumbnail to leave that page out, click again to bring it back, or use All Pages to reset.
- Set the Export Quality slider between 50% and 100%. The default of 92% suits most documents.
- Click the export button. A progress bar shows each page as it renders.
- Click Download. You get one JPG for a single page, or a ZIP named after your PDF for several pages. The images are also added to your Workspace.
When it helps
Sharing one page on WhatsApp
A ticket, a timetable or a single page of a circular is easier to view as a photo in a chat than as a PDF. Select just that page and export it.
Slides and documents
Export a chart page or a diagram and insert the image into a presentation or a document that cannot embed PDFs.
Portals that only accept images
Some upload forms accept JPG but not PDF. Export the page, then check the image against the form's size and dimension rules.
Tips
- Files are named after the PDF plus the original page number, such as notes_page7.jpg, so you can always tell which page an image came from even after skipping pages.
- For pages of small print, keep quality at 90% or above; lower settings make text edges blotchy. For photo-heavy pages, 75% to 85% gives much smaller files with little visible change.
- Pages larger than A4 or Letter, such as A3 drawings, are rendered at twice their size in points rather than at 1500 pixels, so they come out larger.
- If a portal needs exact pixel dimensions or a size in KB, export here first and then use an image resize or compress tool on the JPG.
Limitations
- Output is JPG only. There is no PNG or transparent background; transparent areas are rendered as part of the page.
- Resolution is fixed by the rule above and cannot be raised to a chosen DPI. For a PDF at a specific DPI, use PDF DPI instead.
- This exports whole pages. It does not pull out the separate pictures embedded inside a PDF at their original resolution.
- Very long documents create one canvas per page in turn and can be slow on older phones; export in smaller batches if the tab struggles.
What happens to your files
Pages are rendered by PDF.js inside your browser and encoded to JPG on your device; the ZIP is also built in the page. Neither the PDF nor the images are uploaded. The exported images are stored in your Workspace in this browser's IndexedDB, so remove them there if the document is private.
Convert Every PDF Page to a Separate Image
File Studio renders each page you select as a JPG about 1500 pixels wide for A4 and Letter pages (larger pages are rendered at twice their size in points). Click thumbnails to leave out pages you don't need. A single page saves as one JPG; two or more are packaged into a ZIP. This is commonly used for creating presentation slides, social media graphics, or preview images from PDF documents.
Set the JPG Quality
The Export Quality slider runs from 50% to 100% and starts at 92%. Lower values make smaller files, which helps when sending pages on WhatsApp or email; for pages of small text or line drawings, stay at 90% or above so letter edges don't pick up JPEG smudging. Output is JPG only; PNG export is not offered in this tool.
One JPG or a ZIP of Pages
When several pages are exported, File Studio packages them into one ZIP archive instead of many separate downloads. Each image is named after the PDF and its original page number (for example report_page3.jpg), so a gap in the numbers shows which pages you left out. The ZIP is built in your browser, and the images are also saved to your workspace for use in other tools. Drop several PDFs at once to convert them all with the same quality: each multi-page PDF gets its own folder inside one ZIP, and a damaged file is flagged without stopping the rest.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I convert a PDF to JPG online for free?
- Open your PDF, click page thumbnails to leave out pages you don't need (all are selected at first), set the Export Quality slider and click Export. One page saves as a JPG; several pages download as a ZIP of JPGs.
- What is the difference between JPG and PNG for PDF conversion?
- This tool exports JPG only. JPG keeps photos and coloured pages small, and at a quality of 90% or more text edges stay clean. PNG is lossless but much larger for full pages; if you need PNG, convert the exported JPG with an image converter.
- Can I convert only specific pages?
- Yes. Click the page thumbnails to choose pages; only the highlighted pages are exported.
- Can I convert several PDFs to JPG at once?
- Yes. Drop two or more PDFs together. One quality setting applies to all of them, each PDF is converted in turn, and in the ZIP the pages of each multi-page PDF sit in their own folder. A file that can't be read is marked as failed while the rest carry on.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. File Studio is built on a strict local-first architecture. Every PDF operation — merging, splitting, compressing, redacting — runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your computer. You can even disconnect your internet after the page loads and the tools will continue working perfectly.
- Is File Studio completely free?
- Yes, 100% free with no limits. There are no file size caps, no daily limits, no watermarks added to your output, and no account or email required. All tools are free forever.
- Does it work on mobile and tablet?
- Yes. File Studio is fully responsive and works on Android and iOS browsers. All processing happens locally on your phone's or tablet's hardware.
