Remove a Logo or Text from Your Video — Free and Private
Erase your own logo, timestamp or text overlay from a video: fill it in from the surrounding picture, or crop, blur or cover it. Preview before export. Nothing is uploaded.
About Remove Video Logo
Removes or hides a fixed overlay that you put on your own video, such as an old channel logo, a camera's date stamp or a caption you burned in, by rebuilding the background behind it, filling it with an optional AI model, or blurring, pixelating, covering or cropping it away. It is meant for footage you made or have permission to edit, not for stripping other people's watermarks or copyright notices.
How to use Remove Video Logo
- Add your video. The tool samples frames, looks for edges that stay put while the rest of the picture changes, and proposes any overlay it finds.
- Accept or adjust the suggested box, or draw your own with the rectangle, brush and eraser. If the mark moves, add keyframes so the region follows it. Expand and Feather cover glow and anti-aliased edges.
- Read the difficulty rating (Easy, Moderate or Difficult) and its reasons, then pick a method: Remove (rebuild background), AI fill, Blur, Pixelate, Solid cover or Crop.
- Preview a few seconds and compare with the original before committing to the whole video.
- Choose container, resolution and quality, then export. The sound is copied when the container accepts it.
When it helps
Old branding on footage you still use
If you rebranded, the old logo in a corner of your back catalogue can be rebuilt from the surrounding frames, especially when the camera moves and the background behind the logo is visible at other moments.
A date stamp from a camcorder or dashcam
Timestamps are small and sit in a corner, which suits the Remove method. If the background there is a busy texture that won't rebuild cleanly, Crop takes the edge off the frame instead.
Hiding personal information you recorded by accident
A house number, a screen with an email address, or a name tag can be pixelated or covered for the part of the video where it appears, using keyframes to follow it.
Tips
- Remove works best when the camera moves or the background changes, because pixels hidden in one frame are visible in another. On a locked-off shot with a still background there is nothing to borrow, and the fill comes from spatial inpainting or the AI model.
- Grow the mask a few pixels. Logos usually have a soft shadow or glow, and leaving it outside the mask shows as a faint outline.
- Use the preview on the hardest part of the clip, such as a pan or a busy background, not the first seconds.
- If the rating says Difficult, consider Crop or Blur. A clean blur often looks better than a smeared reconstruction.
- Your masks are saved per video in this browser, so you can come back and export again without redrawing.
Limitations
- Large marks over detailed, moving scenes can leave a soft or wobbly patch. The tool won't promise a perfect result, which is why it rates difficulty and offers previews.
- Videos up to 30 minutes are processed in one go, and the finished file is held in memory, so long or 4K sources need a computer with plenty of RAM.
- The picture is re-encoded, so the output is very close to the original but not bit-identical.
- AI fill uses a still-image inpainting model; consistency over time comes from the temporal fill around it, and it is noticeably slower than the other methods.
What happens to your files
The video is decoded, cleaned and re-encoded inside your browser with WebCodecs and is never uploaded. If you opt into AI fill, the MI-GAN model (about 28 MB, MIT licence) is downloaded once from Hugging Face and kept in this browser's cache storage; it then runs locally through ONNX Runtime Web, using WebGPU where available. Your drawn masks are saved per video in local storage so you can reopen them. Please only use the tool on videos you own or are allowed to edit.
Frequently asked questions
- Which videos can I use this on?
- Videos you made or have permission to edit: your own logo, a timestamp from your camera, an old channel name, a caption you burned in. Removing someone else's watermark or copyright notice from their content can break copyright law and platform rules, so please don't.
- Is my video uploaded?
- No. The video is decoded, cleaned and re-encoded inside your browser. If you choose AI mode, only the AI model is downloaded once; your video never leaves your device.
- Will the logo disappear completely?
- Often it's hard to spot, but not always. Small logos over simple or still backgrounds give the cleanest results; large logos over moving, detailed scenes can leave a soft patch. The tool rates each video Easy, Moderate or Difficult and lets you preview a few seconds first, or use crop, blur or cover instead.
- Is the sound kept?
- Yes, when the browser can copy it into the new file. The picture is re-encoded, so quality is very close to the original but not bit-for-bit identical.
- Which browsers work?
- Chrome and Edge on a computer give the best speed and AI support. Long or 4K videos need a computer with enough memory.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. File Studio is built on a strict local-first architecture. Every PDF operation — merging, splitting, compressing, redacting — runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your computer. You can even disconnect your internet after the page loads and the tools will continue working perfectly.
- Is File Studio completely free?
- Yes, 100% free with no limits. There are no file size caps, no daily limits, no watermarks added to your output, and no account or email required. All tools are free forever.
- Does it work on mobile and tablet?
- Yes. File Studio is fully responsive and works on Android and iOS browsers. All processing happens locally on your phone's or tablet's hardware.
